Flexible Nanny Care

For families who need support without the strings

Whether you’re visiting Barcelona, need childcare for less than 3–6 months, or want to minimise admin, this option keeps things simple. Once you’ve shared your schedule and paid the one-time placement fee, you’ll receive access to a curated pool of available nannies. We’ll suggest the best match based on your family’s vibe - but the final choice is always yours.

    • No ‘standard’ requests needed: day-, evening-, or weekend-care are all included

    • Whether your needs vary weekly or you require regular part-time care, we are here to provide you with consistent support from dedicated professional nannies who create a nurturing environment for your children

At The Nanny Collective, we understand that choosing the right childcare for your family is a significant decision. Here are some common questions from parents, along with detailed answers to help you understand our services and what to expect:

  • Our nannies must be at least 21 years old, have a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional childcare experience, have two verified professional references, are fluent in English (and often bi-lingual), have a valid police check, hold a current CPR & First Aid certification, and often hold a university degree


  • At The Nanny Collective, we prioritize the safety and reliability of our nannies through a comprehensive vetting process:

    1. We conduct thorough background checks, including police checks and social media screening.

    2. We verify at least two professional references for each nanny.

    3. All nannies must have a valid police check and current CPR & First Aid certification.

    4. Our nannies undergo specialized training to address the unique challenges faced by expat families in Barcelona.

    5. We require a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional childcare experience.

    6. Nannies participate in a structured trial period with families, allowing both parties to assess the fit.

    7. We provide ongoing support through monthly check-ins and additional assistance where needed.

    This rigorous process ensures that our nannies are not only qualified but also embody our core values of trust, reliability, and cultural sensitivity.


  • Many of our nannies are bilingual or multilingual, offering opportunities for language immersion. We can discuss specific language requirements during the matching process.


  • If you want to change your nanny, we're here to help if you’ve chosen for the Part-time nanny option. This typically happens during the trial period, as that is the time to get a feel if you’re a match. We'll work with you to find a suitable replacement without any additional costs. Our goal is to ensure you always have a nanny who fits well with your family's needs and dynamics.

  • We understand that life can be unpredictable, so we ensure you have continuity of care by matching you with two nannies from the start. If you’ve chosen the flexible nanny option, you will have a Primary Nanny who regularly works with your family and a Supporting Nanny who can step in when needed. If both nannies are unavailable, we will find a temporary replacement to fill any gaps in care

  • Our payment process is designed to be effortless. We align at the beginning of the month the hours you need at a minimum and send you an invoice. If you require more childcare during the month (which is always possible), we will settle this with the invoice of the following month thereafter.

  • Absolutely. We understand that every family's needs are unique. Within our options, we'll work with you to create a tailored solution that best fits your situation. We encourage you to reach out to us so we can discuss your specific requirements and design a package that works perfectly for your family.

  • The hours you purchase are valid for 3 months, where we’re able to roll-over 5 hours to the next months when needed to ensure our nannies' schedules remain manageable.


  • First we will conduct the family intake, whereafter you transfer the placement fee of 100EUR (part-time nanny option). We will then find the perfect nanny for you and you can schedule the trial day. In the exceptional case we didn’t find a match for you, we will refund the placement fee.

  • Part-time nanny hours offer flexible childcare with nannies employed by the Nanny Collective, whereas full-time nannies will be directly employed by your family after the matching process and the legally binding employment contract has been signed between you and the nanny.
